WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. United goalkeeper and United States World Cup hopeful Bill Hamid was left out of Saturday’s MLS game roster due to a left foot injury.

The team announced the injury on its Twitter account.

The 23-year-old spent the early part of the week training with the U.S. Men’s National Team, but did not play in Wednesday’s friendly match against Mexico in Arizona.

Hamid, who has 88 career starts for United since 2010, is considered to have an outside chance at earning one of three goalkeeper spots on the U.S. 2014 World Cup roster.
