Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III unveiled a personal logo, designed by Adidas, in a new branding campaign Sunday afternoon.

Griffin debuted the logo, which figures his nickname, RG3, roughly in the shape of a heart, on his first post on his new Instagram account.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the love and support of my family, friends and fans growing up,” Griffin wrote in the post, presumably referring to his football career. “This is for us and represents all of the work the people around me put in to help me succeed in life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Griffin hyped the debut of the logo with text messages to several Redskins beat reporters on Saturday, then began writing about it in a series of posts on Twitter that evening. On Sunday, after the logo was revealed, he used it as his avatar on the social media site.

The branding campaign differs significantly from Griffin’s “All In For Week 1” promotion from a year ago, when he vowed to return from surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right knee before the start of the 2013 season.
