A taxicab crashed through the front of Inter-American Development Bank in Northwest D.C. on Monday.

The driver of the cab and a person who was inside the building were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to a spokesman for the Fire and Emergency Medical Services department.

Investigators are unclear what caused the taxicab to leave the street and veer into the front of the building’s mail room, in the 1300 block of New York Avenue in Northwest.

The taxicab was not carrying any passengers at the time of the crash, which happened around 11:30 a.m., the fire spokesman said.
