MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - State and federal agencies served search warrants Monday at three Lauderdale County businesses where they say illegal gambling was taking place.

Mississippi Gaming Commission Deputy Director Jay McDaniel tells The Meridian Star (http://bit.ly/1edBKoK ) warrants were served on Joe’s Sports in Meridian; Friendly Tavern in Meridian; and Marion One Stop in Marion.

McDaniel says illegal gambling equipment and evidence of sports betting was discovered at Joe’s Sports and Marion One Stop.

He says evidence of sports betting was found at Friendly Tavern.

McDaniel says the next step is to determine what charges will be filed.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission was assisted by the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and the Alcohol Beverage Commission.
