Political priorities change all the time. So does the party in power — I have served in the majority four times for a total of 16 years, and in the minority five times for a total of 22 years. Destroying essential institutional forms merely to serve immediate partisan interests is the height of reckless disregard for the common good.

The current Senate leadership is seeking to destroy the basic form and function of the Senate and, in doing so, threatens liberty itself.
