UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Officials at Six Flags America in Maryland are trying to figure out what caused a roller coaster to become stuck near the top of a ride, stranding two dozen people for several hours.

Prince George’s County fire officials say it took about five hours Sunday to rescue 17 adults and seven children from the Joker’s Jinx roller coaster.

On Monday, the park said in a statement that it is not yet sure why the train did not complete the ride. The park says the ride will remain closed until its staff and the ride manufacturer determines it is safe for operation.
