BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - An energy company says the Billings area is under consideration for a proposed $500 million oil refinery.

Quantum Energy Inc. says the plant would convert crude from the Bakken oilfield into diesel, propane and butane and also capture carbon dioxide for oilfield use.

The Billings Gazette reported Thursday (http://tinyurl.com/lcvhckp ) company officials plan to make a presentation to the Yellowstone County commissioners next week.

Quantum says the refinery would have 150 employees.

The company says it’s interested in Yellowstone County because it already has three oil refineries and because Bakken crude is being transported through the area by rail.
