BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police say a man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being shot while helping a woman with car trouble.

Police Lt. Sean Edwards tells WVTM-TV (http://bit.ly/1uYSVxO ) the man was shot Friday morning when two men approached the stranded vehicle and demanded money. Edwards say the two suspects were wearing ski masks and driving a moving truck.

The Good Samaritan was shot in the chest and taken to UAB Hospital. The two suspects have yet to be identified.
