CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A crewman from a container ship is getting medical treatment in Charleston after he was flown by a Coast Guard helicopter from the ship 80 miles off the South Carolina coast.

The Coast Guard says in a release that the crewman aboard the ship Northern Dexterity suffered an eye injury on Thursday.

A helicopter from the Coast Guard’s Air Facility Charleston was dispatched to the scene and hoisted the man from the container ship. The crewman was brought to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment.
