DURANT, Okla. (AP) - The Choctaw Nation’s annual Labor Day Festival scheduled for later this month will be dedicated to Choctaw women.

The festival starts Aug. 28 and continues through Sept. 1. It will conclude with Chief Gary Batton’s State of the Nation address.

This year’s focus will be on Choctaw women and their leadership through faith, family and culture.

This year’s festival will also feature Merle Haggard, Jeff Foxworthy and Duck Dynasty’s Willie and Korie Robertson.

Traditional Choctaw cultural events including dancing, stickball and crafts will be on display throughout the festival, which is expected to draw more than 100,000 visitors.

The festival will be held at the Choctaw Nation Capitol building at Tushka Homma.
