BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Department of Health is hosting a conference this week aimed at enhancing the ability of state and local officials to respond to emergencies.

The all-day conference Thursday at the Radisson in Bismarck is being put on by the Health Department’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Section.

Hospital Preparedness Division Director Mary Tello-Pool says the conference will include discussions, practical lessons and keynote speakers. Topics will include mass fatalities, transportation accidents and water contamination incidents.
