BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) - In 1963, then 17-year-old Sandra Lantz was asked to leave Bothell High School four months before graduation because she was pregnant.

Despite the rejection she earned her credits for a high school diploma at a private school. She later graduated from Western Washington University and earned two master’s degrees and became a social worker, author and editor.

Now married and living in Anchorage, Sandra Kleven recently returned to Bothell for her 51st class reunion.

The Seattle Times reports (http://bit.ly/1sPsNYm ) she was finally given her high school diploma with pomp and circumstance.

A friend and classmate, Lynda Humphrey, dug out transcripts and worked with the Northshore School District to organize the graduation ceremony.
