BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - The Massachusetts National Guard is holding a ceremony to honor a soldier who has served in it for 38 years.

Sgt. 1st Class Mary Reilly Callahan has served in several National Guard units in in medical and human resource potions, including tours in Iraq and Kuwait during an operation that ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Reilly-Callahan is receiving separate certificates of appreciation from President Barack Obama and Gov. Deval Patrick during an award ceremony scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

She is also receiving a Meritorious Service Medal during the ceremony attended by her family and friends at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford.
