ANALYSIS/OPINION:

While Al-Jazeera may be neutral in its reporting on the United States and select regions of the world, the same cannot be said about the Middle East and the Israeli-Arab conflict. Adding to its negative picture, particularly during the recent Operation Edge by Israel to prevent further rocket attacks against the Israeli civilian population, Al-Jazeera has shown obeisance to its master, Qatar.

Not only has Qatar housed leaders of Hamas, but Israeli media have reported that many of the rocket launchings against Israel have been orchestrated by Qatar under the direction of Hamas leaders in that nation. Certainly, Al-Jazeera, generously funded by the Qatar government, cannot be considered neutral in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It presents a biased medium supporting both Hamas and Qatar’s funding of Hamas.
