DETROIT (AP) - A hot dog eating contest in Detroit will benefit police and fire charities in the city.
MLive.com reports (http://bit.ly/XLSGM6 ) the fourth annual American Coney Island Coney Dog Eating Challenge takes place Thursday evening. This year’s event includes a competition between the police and fire departments as well as an open heat for ambitious eaters.
Participants will compete to see who can consume the most Coney dogs - including hot dog, bun, chili, mustard and onions - in 10 minutes.
Competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi is scheduled to make a guest appearance. Details including registration information are posted online.
