SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Notre Dame will play Michigan State, Virginia, Duke and Syracuse at home during the upcoming men’s basketball season.

The university announced Wednesday the Irish will play the Spartans Dec. 3 as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The schedule also includes playing Purdue in Indianapolis on Dec. 20 as part of the Crossroads Classic and Massachusetts on Nov. 22 and Providence a day later in the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The Irish host defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Virginia on Jan. 10, Duke on Jan. 28 and Syracuse on Feb. 24. They also play at North Carolina on Jan. 5, at Duke on Feb. 7 and at Louisville on March 4.

The Irish finished 15-17 last season, their first losing season since 1998-99.
