A-ROD COUSIN, CLINIC OWNER ARRESTED BY FEDS

A cousin of Alex Rodriguez who injected the baseball star with steroids and a onetime clinic owner accused of providing the performance-enhancing drugs to several players have been arrested in connection with a drug conspiracy, authorities said Tuesday. Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Mia Ro said Yuri Sucart was among nine people arrested. Also arrested was former Biogenesis of America clinic owner Anthony Bosch, who was charged Tuesday with conspiracy to distribute steroids, according to court records.

HEARING RESCHEDULED IN JUSTIN BIEBER DUI CASE

A Miami-Dade County judge has postponed a hearing to determine whether Justin Bieber will be tried on charges of driving under the influence and resisting arrest. The judge on Tuesday postponed the hearing until 1:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the request of prosecutors and Bieber’s attorney.

CRIST LAYS OUT PLAN TO AID MIDDLE CLASS IF ELECTED

Former Gov. Charlie Crist laid out his plan to help the middle class by raising the minimum wage, increasing funds for public schools and expanding Medicaid. Crist said Tuesday that if elected he’ll fight for the middle class instead of big corporations. The former Republican turned Democrat took several shots at his opponent, incumbent Republican Gov. Rick Scott, as he released his “Fair Shot Florida” plan in Fort Lauderdale.

GOLDEN STATE’S SPEIGHTS CHARGED WITH DUI IN FLORIDA

Golden State Warriors player Marreese Speights faces a drunken driving charge in Florida. Tampa police say the former Florida Gator was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with driving under the influence. Police say Speights’ blood-alcohol level was recorded to be 0.103 and 0.106 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08.

BOY LEFT IN CAR WHILE MOM DRANK IN BAR

Police say a woman faces DUI and child neglect charges after her son was left alone in her Mercedes while she drank at a nearby bar in St. Petersburg. The Tampa Bay Times reports the 8-year-old boy went into Tryst Lounge several times, apparently looking for his mother. Her blood alcohol level was 0.177, more than twice the legal limit to drive in Florida. She was arrested and taken to jail.
