STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - The Big 12 Conference named Oklahoma State wrestler Nolan Boyd as the league’s Wrestler of the Week after his performance last week at the Reno Tournament of Champions.

Monday’s announcement marks the first time Boyd has taken the honor. It’s the second time it’s happened this year for the Cowboys.

Boyd improved to 12-1 on the season by winning the 184-pound division. He was also named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament.

In the semis, Boyd pinned Ben Stroh of Wyoming in 4:50. The fall was his second of the tournament. In the finals, Boyd dominated top-seeded and fifth-ranked Taylor Meeks of Oregon State, 9-3.
