LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Attorney General-Elect Leslie Rutledge has named Judd Deere of Little Rock as communications director for her administration.

Deere served as deputy campaign manager and communications director for U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin’s successful campaign for lieutenant governor.

Deere, a graduate of Lyon College in Batesville, previously worked in Washington, D.C., for Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo as his press secretary and digital director and for Arkansas Sen. John Boozman as his correspondence director.

Rutledge made the announcement Tuesday. She says Deere’s experience with both traditional and digital media at the state and national level will be crucial to communicate with Arkansans about her administration.

Rutledge is succeeding Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, who is leaving office due to term limits.
