JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Police in Jackson are warning shoppers not to leave their holiday presents in unlocked cars.

The Jackson Hole News&Guide; reports (http://bit.ly/1wCTbGf ) that police say thieves this time of year often wind up taking Christmas gifts.

Lt. Cole Nethercott of the Jackson Police Department says the police get a few calls every year about people having gifts stolen from their cars.

Most auto burglaries in Teton County occur when the car owner leaves their doors unlocked. Thieves will search for a car they can enter for any valuable items.
