ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Two of New York state’s losing casino bidders are teaming up to encourage state officials to reconsider a decision not to approve a Las Vegas-style facility in the Southern Tier.

The developers behind the failed Tioga Downs and Traditions casino projects say Tuesday that they are working together on a combined casino proposal that would be located at the Tioga Downs racino.

Last week, a state board rejected 13 proposals in favor of projects in Sullivan, Seneca and Schenectady counties. Traditions and Tioga were the only two applicants from the Southern Tier.

The board withheld a fourth casino approval and Tioga and Traditions say it should go to their joint project.

Board members said they opted against a fourth casino to avoid saturating the market.
