PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - Police in Port Angeles who blocked off a neighborhood for two hours after a report of gunfire Monday evening say they have arrested a man armed with a rifle.

The Peninsula Daily News reports (http://is.gd/Sp5vyN ) that detective Sgt. Tyler Peninger says officers arrested 51-year-old Gary Blanton for investigation of reckless endangerment.

Police responded to a gunfire report at about 5 p.m. Peninger says they found a man holding a rifle and standing in his yard. Witnesses told officers that they had heard the man claim there were bodies in his home and in a vehicle. Initially, the officer says police feared they might have a triple homicide.

They tried talking to the man for two hours, then took him into custody after using a stun grenade.

Peninger says officers found no bodies or injured people in the man’s home or nearby cars.
