EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. (AP) - What do you do when your community’s bid for a new casino has been kicked to the curb? Go to Plan B.

The Daily Gazette of Schenectady reports (http://bit.ly/1sTyC2Q ) that officials in three eastern New York localities are moving forward after their applications for casino projects were passed over last week by the state’s Gaming Facility Location Board.

Howe Caverns in Cobleskill in rural Schoharie County and two communities across the Hudson River from Albany - East Greenbush and Rensselaer - had hoped to land one of the casinos to be built in upstate New York.

Instead, Howe Caverns and the city of Rensselaer are returning to previous development plans, while officials in East Greenbush say they’ll pursue plans to develop the site they had set aside for a casino.
