ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - Rockford police have recovered a gun but are still searching for leads in the weekend slayings of four people.

A woman, her boyfriend and her two young boys were found shot to death in a duplex late Saturday.

The Rockford Register Star reports (http://bit.ly/13w9pVz ) that police announced late Tuesday that they had recovered a gun and other evidence, though they did not provide details.

Assistant Deputy Chief Patrick Hoey told the newspaper no arrests have been made.

Detectives are continuing to track down friends and relatives as they search for leads.

Neighbors said they heard pounding on a door and someone forcing the door open before gunshots rang out.

The victims were 24-year-old Martia Flint, 24-year-old Demontae Rhodes, 6-year-old Tyrone Smith III and 4-year-old Tobias K. Smith.
