EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives says a 16-year-old accused of robbing two espresso stands of about $500 told them he did it because “the risk was worth the reward.”

The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1wG4zAZ) prosecutors are charging the teen with first-degree robbery as an adult, which could mean more than a year in prison if he is convicted.

The teen was arrested last week after a school resource officer recognized him from surveillance video. Court papers say he had been expelled from school and had been sentenced last month for an unrelated assault.
