TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three Tampa Bay area teens have been charged with making threatening calls to Hillsborough County’s 911 dispatch center.

The sheriff’s office reported Wednesday that a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were arrested and charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device and misusing the 911 system.

Authorities say four 911 calls placed Saturday evening included threats to blow up the dispatch center and kill dispatchers with a shotgun.

The calls all came from a single cell phone, which detectives were able to track down. Officials say all three teens admitted to participating in the calls.
