LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) - Robeson County authorities have charged a fifth person in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month at a Red Springs convenience store.

Police tell local media outlets that 18-year-old Christopher McGeachy turned himself in to police on Christmas Eve. He is charged with murder, attempted murder and several weapons counts in the Dec. 11 incident.

Authorities allege McGeachy and four others went into Roscoe’s Convenience Store, demanded money and fired shots. Clerk Rodney Maynard was shot and wounded while customer James Johnson was killed.

It was not immediately known if McGeachy had an attorney.
