LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Exhibits and lectures will be held around the state next month to continue marking the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1xm22Lc ) the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission started commemorating the Civil War’s 150th anniversary in 2011 by hosting exhibits and lectures with yearly themes. Events in 2015 will focus on emancipation and reconstruction.

Events in 2015 will include a Civil War round table discussion on Jan. 8 in Batesville; a traveling exhibit at the Nevada County Depot and Museum from Jan. 12 to Feb. 8 in Prescott; a brown-bag lunch lecture Jan. 21 at the Old State House Museum in Little Rock; and an exhibit highlighting the final months of the Civil War in Arkansas during January at historic Washington State Park in Washington.
