TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a man is facing a felony charge after crashing his vehicle into a Tucson restaurant.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (http://bit.ly/1zY2ArN) that 50-year-old Ronald Williams lost control of his car Thursday afternoon and slammed into Maria’s Cafe, a longtime restaurant that serves Mexican food.

Authorities say the building sustained extensive damage. But no one was injured and the eatery was closed for Christmas.

Witnesses told police they saw Williams racing a red truck around 2 p.m. before the crash.

Police spokesman Chris Widmer says alcohol was believed to have been a factor.

However, Williams will only be charged with felony criminal damage.
