KENT, Ohio (AP) - Darren Goodson scored 12 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer, as Kent State edged Akron 60-57 on Saturday.

Goodson scored the last eight points of the game for Kent State (12-9, 3-5 Mid-American) and banked in a deep 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left to down Akron (14-7, 6-2).

The Zips erased a six-point deficit with 1:42 left to tie the game at 57 on Demetrius Treadwell's basket with 34 seconds left.

Goodson was the lone Kent State player in double figures. Both teams shot 44.4 percent from the field, but Akron committed 18 turnovers compared with 11 for Kent State.

Treadwell had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Zips. Quincy Diggs added 15 points and Nick Harney had 11.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Kent State and put an end to a three-game winning streak for Akron.
