LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - Akeem Williams scored 19 points and Massachusetts-Lowell came back from a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat Binghamton 62-55 on Saturday.

The River Hawks (6-14, 5-4 America East) rallied to take a 39-37 lead with 13:13 remaining in the game. Binghamton went back on top on Rayner Moquete’s 3-pointer before Chad Holley’s two free throws gave UMass Lowell the lead for good at 43-42 with 9:06 remaining. Another Moquete 3-pointer got the Bearcats within two with 1:19 left. But Williams responded with a 3-pointer and Antonio Bivins sank two free throws and Holley four more.

The River Hawks took advantage of their free-throw opportunities, making 14 of 18 tries to Binghamton’s 3 of 6.

Bivins scored 13 points and Holley and Mark Cornelius 12 apiece for the River Hawks.

Yosef Yacob and Jordan Reed scored 14 points each for Binghamton (4-18, 1-8), which has lost seven in a row.
