SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Federal authorities say an arrest has been made in connection with a Sunday fire that destroyed an apartment complex under construction in Salt Lake City.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives issued a news release about the arrest Saturday afternoon, but declined to release further details, including the suspect’s name.

ATF spokesman Brad Beyersdorf told KSL-TV that authorities are remaining tight-lipped “due to the ongoing investigation and continuing judicial process.”

A spokesman for the Salt Lake City Fire Department also declined to release further details.

The fire caused an estimated $2.5 million in damage to the building. The 40-foot-tall building was planned to have 61 units and cover 64,000 square feet.

No one was inside the building, and no one was hurt.
