LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An exhibit on wounded Civil War soldiers is open through March 29 at the University of Louisville’s Kornhauser Health Sciences Library in downtown Louisville.

Library spokeswoman Tiffney Gipson told WFPL-FM (http://bit.ly/1m2Ey7H ) that by 1863 Louisville had more than 19 Union hospitals and that the exhibit highlights the city’s role in the treatment of Civil War soldiers.

The exhibit is called “Life and Limb: The Toll of the American Civil War.”

Gipson says the library wanted an exhibit that would remind students and staff of the area’s role in the war.
