MIAMI (AP) - Search crews are looking for a 31-year-old kayaker who went missing in the area of Oleta River State Park.

Officials say Vivian Ellis rented a kayak Wednesday afternoon and was supposed to return by sunset.

When he didn’t return, the U.S. Coast Guard launched boat crews to search for him. And a helicopter searched the mangroves and Intracoastal Waterway.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Oleta River State Park rangers also searched the park on Wednesday.

Anyone with information about Ellis is asked to call the Coast Guard at 305-415-6800.
