SOCHI, Russia (AP) - Norway is back atop the medal standings after winning two golds for the second day in a row - the fourth time it’s won two golds in a day during the Sochi Games.

Norway’s two golds made it the biggest medal mover of the day for Wednesday, with the United States and Russia winning three medals each. Norway’s golds came in cross-country skiing and the mixed relay biathlon.

Norway moved ahead of Germany in the overall medal standings with the performance, with 20 medals total. Germany won no medals Wednesday.

The United States took a lead on the Netherlands and Russia for most total medals with 23. There are more Americans in the Olympics than from any other country.

Canada ended a weeklong gold medal drought with first place in the women’s bobsled.

Eight medal events are scheduled for Thursday, including bronze and gold medal games in women’s hockey.
