ATLANTA (AP) - Two medals stolen from Olympic sprinter and hurdler Angelo Taylor have been returned.

Police said the medals were stolen from Taylor’s SUV while it was parked outside his Atlanta-area home earlier this month. Taylor left the medals in his SUV after a speaking engagement.

WXIA-TV (http://on.11alive.com/1h9N0Ph) reported Thursday that a hotel maintenance supervisor found the medals in a crumpled paper bag on the hotel’s property and returned them to Taylor.

Taylor won Gold medals in the 2000 and 2008 Olympics and silver in 2012, though it wasn’t known Thursday exactly which of his medals were stolen. Taylor also has numerous world championship medals.

Taylor says he is overjoyed at having the medals returned.
