D.C. police say a Northeast man shot last month died on Saturday.

Earnest Jerome McWilliams, 33, had been in critical condition after an early morning attack on Jan. 21.

Police said officers found Mr. McWilliams suffering from gunshot wounds while responding to reports of a shooting at about 2 a.m. in the 4500 block of Benning Road in Southeast.
