AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Mikaehla Conner’s short jumper in the lane with 3 seconds left sent McKinney North to a 37-35 victory over top-ranked Northside Brennan in the Class 4A state semifinals Thursday night.

After giving her team the lead, Conner then intercepted Northside Brennan’s final inbounds pass with 1 second to play to clinch the victory.

Connor led McKinney North (29-4) with 18 points in a game that had seven ties or lead changes in the fourth quarter.

McKinney North’s Breah Powell made two free throws to make it 35-35 with 47 seconds left. Northside Brennan (34-2) then turned it over when Megan Valdez-Crader threw the ball out of bounds.

McKinney North held the ball for more than 30 seconds before Connor hit the game winner.
