KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Two federal weather offices will remain in Kansas City although their current site is closing down.
The federal General Services Administration says it will help find new space in Kansas City for the offices of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The agency currently operates an equipment repair center and logistics center for the National Weather Service at the Bannister Federal Complex. But the Bannister site is to close by the end of next year to make way for a private development.
The General Services Administration told The Kansas City Star (http://bit.ly/1lmgPRT ) that it received strong support from Missouri's congressional delegation and local officials to keep the weather operations in Kansas City.
