COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Fort Benning is preparing to auction off about 50 vehicles abandoned on the Army post.

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports (http://bit.ly/1ek3Jlc ) the auction is set for Feb. 11. Among the vehicles set to go on the block are a Mercury Mountaineer, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Ram pickup, Honda Accord, Ford Crown Victoria and a classic 1969 Lincoln Continental.

Prospective bidders can preview the vehicles and register for the auction Feb. 10.

Janice Jemison, chief of a Non Appropriated Funds property warehouse says the vehicles are ones that soldiers or their family members have left on post.

The auction is sponsored by the Fort Benning Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
