BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - New Western Kentucky coach Jeff Brohm has signed 15 players for his first recruiting class, including the state’s Mr. Football from the Hilltoppers’ backyard.

Bowling Green’s Nacarius Fant, voted Kentucky’s top player last fall by members of The Associated Press, is one of 10 Bluegrass State players landed by the Hilltoppers. Rated a three-star wide receiver by all of the major recruiting services, he won three straight Class 5A state championships with the Purples.

Running back D’Andre Ferby joins WKU after winning a D-II Class 2A state title at Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tenn. He was named that division’s Mr. Football.

Brohm’s recruiting focus was rebuilding a defense that lost several starters from last season, and this year’s group includes five linebackers, four linemen and four backs.
