WASHINGTON (AP) - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit that accused D.C. Councilmember Jim Graham of illegally meddling in a land deal around a Metro station.

Graham has already been reprimanded by his council colleagues for offering to support a developer’s bid for the district’s lottery contract if the firm withdrew its bid for the Metro project.

U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled Thursday that Graham is immune from legal action because he was acting in his official capacity as a member of the Metro board. Collyer wrote that Graham’s “poor behavior” has already been addressed through the council reprimand.

Graham says in a statement that he’s pleased by the ruling and that he can put the issue behind him. Graham, a Democrat, is seeking a fifth term on the council.
