PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - A former Concord University police officer has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse involving a minor.

The Daily Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/1duRvjL ) that 47-year-old Randy Keith Cordle entered the plea Thursday in Mercer County Circuit Court.

Cordle was arrested in June 2012 and later indicted on six charges. Under a plea agreement, five charges were dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea to a single count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian. The felony charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Sentencing was set for April 15.

Sgt. M.D. Clemons of the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit says none of the abuse was alleged to have occurred at the university.

Cordle no longer works for the campus police.
