Recent legal developments regarding hate-crimes prosecutions remind me of George Orwell's "Animal Farm," in which "some pigs are more equal than others" ("Feds charge white man with hate crime in first 'knockout' prosecution," Web, Dec. 26).
The Washington Times piece says it all. Despite multiple (if not dozens of) knockout attacks, some even seen on video, by black roving groups on lone white people, I cannot find a single instance of the Justice Department charging or prosecuting the perpetrators in white-victim 'knockouts' with federal hate-crimes charges.
Looks like Orwell was right many years ago when he wrote about those pigs and equality. Perhaps an updated version of this would read "some black criminals don't get prosecuted equally for the same crime as white criminals."
Lady Justice was blindfolded in the belief that justice should be "blind" to a person's color, religion, ethnic origin, etc. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. and some of his minions think that justice is only seen in black and white, and black criminals don't get the justice they deserve (i.e., the New Black Panther Party and voter intimidation at Philadelphia voting places, and now "knockout" practitioners), but white criminals will.
If this is true, then I know why the statue of Lady Justice is crying under her blindfold: She cries for America.
