PHOENIX (AP) - A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage Phoenix girl last month.

Phoenix police say 29-year-old Alexander Quihuis is being held on suspicion of sexual conduct with a minor.

Police say a 14-year-old girl told officers on Dec. 17 that she was sexually assaulted near 19th Avenue and Bell Road.

Investigators believe Quihuis picked up the girl after asking her for directions and then allegedly sexually assaulted her.

They say Quihuis then drove the girl a few blocks before letting her out of the vehicle.

Police released photos and video of a potential suspect on Jan. 3 and that led to Quihuis‘ arrest last Friday.

Authorities didn’t immediately know Monday if Quihuis has legal representation yet.
