Some football fans are crying foul after the Seattle Seahawks announced they will not be selling tickets to the NFC championship game to fans with a California billing address.
According to the Seahawks' website, tickets to Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers will not be offered to people living in California, only "fans with a billing address in WA, OR, MT, ID, AK, HI and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta."
"It's pretty sad," David Fucillo, founder of the NinersNationfan group, told KTVU-TV. "There was no need to do this. It adds another distraction."
"What kind of nonsense is that? Are they that afraid of the Niners Nation?" Niners fan Fred Santillan told the station.
Similarly, the Denver Broncos' website announced that tickets for the AFC championship game against the New England Patriots "will be available only to those with a valid billing address in the Rocky Mountain region, including Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Western Kansas."
