MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AP) - Southern Arkansas’s baseball team will enter the 2014 season as the overwhelming favorite to win a third straight title following a vote of the Great American Conference’s head coaches.

The conference said on Tuesday that the Muleriders garnered 10 of the 11 first-place votes. The two-time GAC baseball regular-season and tournament champions are ranked No. 13 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper preseason poll. They posted a 42-17 record in 2013 and advanced to the regional tournament for a sixth straight year.

Arkansas Tech received the lone remaining first-place vote and placed second in the voting.

Southwestern Oklahoma State took third in the poll. The Bulldogs finished second to the Muleriders in the GAC standings with a 21-9 record.

Arkansas-Monticello and Henderson State placed fourth and fifth in the league balloting.
