- Associated Press - Sunday, January 19, 2014

ROSEDALE, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police say a 17-year-old boy is recovering after he was accidentally shot in the neck.

Police say the shooting happened Saturday night at a home in the 6000 block of St. Regis Road in the Rosedale area.

Authorities say the boy and other teenagers were hanging out in the basement of a home where someone had brought a gun. One of the teenagers was handling the weapon when it discharged.

A bullet struck the 17-year-old in the neck. Police say the boy was taken to a hospital but his injuries aren't life-threatening.

No charges have been filed, and police say the case remains under investigation.
