FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Fayetteville police have arrested a teen in the shooting deaths of a man and woman at an apartment complex earlier this week.

Lt. Todd Joyce says police and Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies went to a home Tuesday as part of the investigation.

Joyce said someone in the house fired a shotgun. A detective fired one around at the suspect, who surrendered a short time later. No one was hurt. The police department internal affairs unit is reviewing the shooting.

The teen has been charged with murder and is being held in the Cumberland County jail Wednesday. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.

He is charged with killing Isaiah Manuel Sampeur, 25, and Pamela Ann Coe, 40. They were shot Monday night and were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where they died.

A neighbor in the complex, Jamal Cross, said Sampeur was like a brother.

“Whenever I was down and out, he always had my back. He never did anything to anyone,” Cross said. “Anyone who knew Isaiah knew he would give you the shirt off his back. He didn’t deserve that.”
