LYNN, Mass. (AP) - A Lynn teenager caught fleeing the scene of a fatal shooting in the city has been granted $50,000 bail.

Eighteen-year-old Jacquan McKenzie has been charged with trespassing, carrying a firearm without a license, and carrying a loaded firearm. He pleaded not guilty.

He was caught Jan. 12 fleeing the area of the shooting death of 29-year-old Hery Aquino.

Officers recovered a gun McKenzie was alleged to have dropped during the chase. McKenzie’s attorney noted that police have not charged him with murder, nor have they definitively tied him to the gun.

The Daily Item (http://bit.ly/1c6QAtX ) reports that McKenzie was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. The state dropped the request for a dangerousness hearing Tuesday, requesting McKenzie be held on $50,000 bail.

Judge Albert Conlon accepted the request.
